Welcome to York Junior High!

My name is Lona Snell and I am the counselor for those students with the last name beginning with the letters L-Z. I am honored to work at York Junior High as your counselor! I proudly serve our school district with a Master of Education in School Counseling and hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a Sociology minor. I began my journey with Conroe Isd 9 years ago and have obtained an array of experience within our local community.

Furthermore, I worked at Montgomery County Youth Services and at Cad Walder Behavioral Clinic, assisting both teens and their families. I have addressed concerns associated with eating disorders, drug addictions, behavior issues, depression, mood disorders, homelessness, and blended family concerns. I am also a proud member of Spring Creek Counseling Association and closely work with local community agencies to assist both student and family needs.

Please let me know if you need information in regards to academic guidance, student issues, family concerns, or may just need some additional resources to help your child succeed! In addition, I will soon be sharing more about our campus programs and events such as; Breakfast of Champions, Parent Info Nights, Mentor Programs, Future Focus, Four Year Plans, York LADY Club, Naviance, Generation Texas Week, Red Ribbon Week, and our Veteran's Day Program.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you in our community and be a part of your child's academic achievements!
