Attendance Policies

Reporting an Absence

Please contact the attendance office personnel below by phone, email or send a parent note with the student.

7th Grade Students – Contact by email at Jennifer Garza or by phone at 832-592-8606

8th Grade Students – Contact by email at Denise Hurd or by phone at 832-592-8616

Include the student’s name, student ID #, reason for absence, and parent/guardian name. You should notify the attendance assistants below by 11:00 am day of absence.

Excused Absence - Documentation Requirements

Doctor’s note: * must be signed by Dr. or nurse *must include dates of absences.

Parent note: *must be signed by parent and brought to the attendance office by the student, faxed to attention (Attendance), or attached to an email.

Notes are required for all absences-partial or full day. If your student has a partial absence due to a medical appointment, please send a doctor note to the attendance office.

Planned absences not medically related:

Any absences due to planned vacations, non-school related competitions, etc. must be approved by an Assistant Principal in advance. Please request an EXCUSED ABSENCE FORM from the attendance office to be completed by the parent and returned to the school as soon as possible.

Checking Out a Student

Check out:

Students may not be checked out after 3:35pm on regular school days.

They may not be checked out after 12:15pm on early release school days

Everyone checking out a student must present a photo ID in order to check out a student.

Late Arrivals

Morning Tardy Bell: 8:50 AM
Dismissal Bell: 4:00 PM

Students that arrive late, but by 9:00 am are considered tardy to their 1st period class.

If the student is more than 10 minutes late to class they will be considered absent in that class.
