Attendance Policies

Reporting an Absence

Please contact the attendance office personnel below by phone, email preferably or send a parent note with the student.

All York Students – Contact by email Denise Hurd at or by phone at 832-592-8616

Include the student’s name, student ID #, reason for absence, and parent/guardian name.

Please notify the attendance office within 24 hours of student’s absence.

Excused Absence - Documentation Requirements

Doctor’s note: must be signed by doctor or nurse, must include dates of absences.

Parent’s note: must be signed by parent and can be brought to the attendance office by the student or attached to an email to attendance clerk.

Notes are required for all absences partial or full day. If your student has a partial absence due to a medical appointment, please send a doctor note to the attendance office.

Checking Out a Student

Check out:

Students may not be checked out after 3:35pm on regular school days.

They may not be checked out after 12:15pm on early release school days

Everyone checking out a student must present a photo ID in order to check out a student.

Late Arrivals

Morning Tardy Bell: 8:50 AM
Dismissal Bell: 4:00 PM

Students that arrive late, but by 9:00 am are considered tardy to their 1st period class.

If the student is more than 10 minutes late to class they will be considered absent in that class.
